Four members of a family from Pathanamthitta, Kerala, tragically lost their lives in a fire that erupted at their residence in Abbassia, Kuwait, on Friday night. The victims have been identified as Mathew Muzhakkal, his wife Lini Abraham, and their children Isaac and Erin. The family had returned to Kuwait just a day earlier after vacationing in India.
Mathew Muzhakkal had been employed in Kuwait for the past 15 years, and his wife Lini worked as a nurse. Their children were also studying in Kuwait. According to a relative, the family left India from Nedumbassery on Thursday night.
The family's relatives in Pathanamthitta are still awaiting official confirmation regarding the arrival of the bodies. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit in an air conditioner. Further details are awaited.
