Udhayanidhi Stalin Inspects Historic Double-Decker Metro Project in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin took stock of the Chennai Metro Rail works in the Maduravoyal-Alapakkam area on Sunday. This inspection included the ongoing pioneering double-decker metro bridge construction in Chennai, a first of its kind in India, spanning Arcot Road, and Guindy Road.

Udhayanidhi personally reviewed the metro works under construction in Royapettah, Maduravoyal Alapakkam, and at Poonamallee. Speaking to the officials, he stressed the importance of a speedy completion of the metro project and the need for traffic decongestion measures during construction.

He was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Health Minister Subramanian, MP Dayanidhi Maran, and other DMK leaders. Addressing rumors about his elevation to Deputy CM, Udhayanidhi denied the reports, underlining his dedication to his current roles and the party's preparation for the 2026 elections. He urged youth cadres to increase social media engagement and unveiled plans for district-level youth wing posts.
