Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the first Budget of the Modi 3.0 government, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, labeling it a pro-people and pro-development visionary plan for 2024-25. Shah highlighted its role in accelerating India's journey towards becoming a developed nation.
Shah took to social media to express his admiration, stating, "The Budget 2024-25 not only exemplifies Bharat's newfound sense of purpose, hope, and optimism under PM Modi Ji-led NDA government but also fortifies them." He emphasized the budget's focus on harnessing the potential of youth, women, and farmers to usher in new employment opportunities.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also praised the Union Budget, applauding its roadmap for sustaining India's economic growth and propelling it to become the world's third largest economy. He commended Nirmala Sitharaman and her team for outlining a clear vision.
Nirmala Sitharaman, marking her record seventh consecutive Union Budget, outlined priorities targeting economic growth and job creation. Key areas include productivity in agriculture, employment, skilling, urban development, and innovation.
Sitharaman announced a significant reform in income-tax, aimed at simplifying laws and promoting compliance. The budget also includes substantial investments in infrastructure, with Rs 10 lakh crore allocated under the PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0.
Financial assistance for states affected by natural calamities and a focus on skilling 20 lakh youth over five years with an allocation of Rs 1.48 crore are among the highlights of the budget. The finance minister projected employment creation for 4.1 crore youth over the next five years, underlined by a Rs 2 lakh crore investment.
