The government has given the green light to upgrade 92,108 Anganwadis to Saksham Anganwadis, a move aimed at enhancing early childhood education and nutrition, said Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi in her first media briefing. As part of the 'Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi' initiative, 11,412 of 33,175 state-level master trainers have been trained to train Anganwadi workers nationwide.

The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme has also been expanded to all districts to highlight the importance of educating and empowering the girl child, Devi noted. She emphasized the government’s commitment to women-led development, marking a shift from women's development to women-led growth.

Devi addressed additional issues affecting women and children, such as safety, empowerment, and nutrition. One-Stop Centres offering medical and legal aid, and 24-hour helplines 181 and 1098, are in place for immediate assistance. The Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 programmes spotlight malnutrition, while working women’s hostels and daycare centres aim to increase women's workforce participation.
