Lanagar Feast Welcomes Amarnath Pilgrims Amid Tight Security

People from various states set up langar for Amarnath pilgrims at the Pahalgam base camp. Pilgrims enjoyed food and festivities. The event was marked by tight security measures and a joint security review meeting, focusing on counter-terrorism and maintaining order, was held by IGP Kashmir.

Individuals from multiple states organized langar for Amarnath pilgrims at the Pahalgam base camp in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir. Festivities included dancing and various food options for attendees.

A pilgrim shared, 'The arrangements are excellent, with diverse food and medical services. We feel fortunate to be called by God.' Another group of pilgrims departed for the Amarnath Yatra from Panthachowk Srinagar base camp under stringent security protocols on Thursday morning.

The pilgrims, aiming to connect with their faith and seek blessings, journeyed towards the base camps of the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board oversees the Yatra, divided into two paths: one via Pahalgam and the other through Baltal.

In the midst of the Yatra, Inspector General of Police Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, held a Joint Security Review Meeting at the Nunwan Base Camp, Pahalgam, on July 24. IGP Kashmir directed all security agencies to collaborate closely ensuring a protected and secure Amarnath Yatra.

The meeting also concentrated on counter-terrorism strategies and maintaining order along the Pahalgam route, attended by police, Army, CAPF forces, NDRF, SDRF, MRT, base Camp directors, security, traffic, fire services, and intelligence agencies.

This review meeting highlighted the collective commitment to the safety of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. The Yatra, starting on June 29 and concluding on August 19, spans 52 days, drawing devotees of Lord Shiva on this annual pilgrimage to the sacred cave in the Kashmir Himalayas.
