Heavy rains have significantly disrupted life in Navsari, Gujarat, leading to severe waterlogging that has worsened the plight of local residents. On Wednesday, District Collector Kshipra S Agre inspected shelter homes provided for rain-affected people in the city.

Agre stated that 110 residents had been rescued and relocated to these shelters. She emphasized that the Municipal Corporation, Police, and Administration are collaborating to ensure safety and urged residents to shift to shelter homes as a precautionary measure. "We are working together and urging people to shift to shelter homes," Agre told ANI.

Additionally, Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel visited flood-hit areas in Borsas, Anand district, warning of potential health risks. "Water-borne diseases are a concern where garbage has spread. The Arogya team and doctors are on-site," he said. Heavy rains across Gujarat have claimed eight more lives, raising the death toll to 61.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted an aerial survey of affected areas in coastal districts such as Saurashtra, Jamnagar, and Devbhoomi Dwarka. He instructed the district administration to adopt a zero-casualty approach to ensure public safety during this deluge. Over the past five days, water logging has severely impacted normal life in these regions.
