Minister Denies State-Sponsored Hacking Allegations Amid Apple Talks

Minister Jitin Prasada told Rajya Sabha that India's CERT-In is liaising with Apple over alleged spyware attacks. AAP's Raghav Chaddha raised concerns, claiming opposition members were targeted. Prasada denied state-sponsored hacking, emphasizing ongoing agency investigations.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Jitin Prasada, informed the Rajya Sabha that the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) is in communication with Apple regarding alleged state-sponsored spyware attacks. Prasada asserted, 'There is no such thing as state-sponsored hacking or tracking.'

Responding to a query from Aam Aadmi Party's Raghav Chaddha about alleged state-sponsored hacking, Prasada noted, 'CERT is in touch with Apple and is in the process of getting information. Our agencies will act based on the details provided.'

Chaddha highlighted the issue in the Upper House, claiming, 'Opposition members, journalists, and public figures are victims of state-sponsored cyber attacks.' He questioned, 'Has the government recognized these attacks? Is there a list of victims? What action has been taken?'
