Schools and Colleges in Dharwad Shut Amid Heavy Rainfall
Heavy rains in Dharwad led District Collector Divya Prabhu to declare holidays for educational institutions on July 27. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued heavy downpours across Karnataka and several other regions. The Indian Army is engaged in rescue missions following landslides in Uttar Kannada district.

Schools and colleges in Dharwad will remain closed on July 27 due to severe weather conditions. District Collector Divya Prabhu announced this on Friday following heavy rainfall and cold winds in the area.
Earlier, holidays were declared for July 25 and 26 as well. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rainfall in Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on July 26 and 27.
The IMD also forecasts extremely heavy rainfall in Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat on July 26, with continued heavy rains expected in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, and Saurashtra. In response to severe weather and landslides, the Indian Army has mobilized rescue teams to aid affected regions in Uttar Kannada.
