Sonowal Highlights Vision for 'India 2047' in Budget Discussion
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal praised the budget's vision for 'India 2047,' targeting self-reliance and rapid economic growth. Speaking in Shillong, he emphasized India's journey to becoming one of the top three global economies under PM Modi's leadership. Special attention was given to North-East infrastructure development.

Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for 'India 2047,' aiming to shape India into a self-reliant nation over the next 25 years. He made these remarks during the 'Budget For Viksit Bharat' discussion in Shillong, Meghalaya.
Sonowal stated, "In this budget, we've seen how PM Modi has set the future vision of 'India 2047.' He has set a target for every citizen to make India self-reliant—Atmanirbhar Bharat—in the next 25 years." He added, "This goal is attainable under PM Modi's leadership, as India has advanced from the 11th to the 5th largest economy in just a decade, showcasing our society's capabilities and dedication."
Underlining India's rapid economic growth, Sonowal remarked, "India is the fastest-growing economy, according to leading world economic institutions like the World Bank and IMF. Our aim is to become one of the top three global economies within the next five years under PM Modi's leadership." He applauded Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget, aiming to foster economic growth and development. Additionally, Sonowal noted the North-East region's infrastructure growth, attributing it to PM Modi's special focus and support, making the region a hub for education, tourism, and investment.
