Delhi Bomb Scare: False Alarm After Thorough Checks

Delhi Police responded to a bomb threat in a cluster bus, finding no explosive after extensive checks. The bus conductor's quick thinking ensured passenger safety. The incident involved significant cooperation between police and fire departments.

In response to a bomb threat call in a cluster bus, Delhi Police confirmed on Sunday that thorough checks revealed no explosives. Deputy Commissioner of Police Outer, Jimmi Chiram, stated they received a call at 9.53 p.m. regarding a suspicious item in the bus.

The bus conductor acted promptly and wisely, evacuating passengers before police cordoned off the area. The Delhi Police Bomb Disposal Team conducted a check, determining it was a false alarm. The bag in question contained only motor parts. 'The conductor made a call and acted very wisely, evacuating everyone on time. The bus was empty, so there was no danger,' Chiram said.

Deewan Singh, the bus conductor, noted that he spotted a suspicious object resembling a bomb under passenger seats. The incident began in Nangloi and involved stops at several locations before the suspicious item was noticed. 'We saw something bomb-like under the seats. We stopped the bus, asked the remaining passengers to get down, and then we dialed 100,' Singh explained. According to officials, the call was received from Narela area and involved multiple locations. Two fire tenders were also dispatched to the site for precaution.

The Delhi Fire Department confirmed that information was received about a suspected bomb on a cluster bus route 961 (Nangloi to Najafgarh Road), and the bomb squad was called in. Ultimately, no explosive was found, marking the threat as a false alarm.
