BSF Foils Major Cattle Smuggling, Apprehends Six at Meghalaya Border

Border Security Forces thwarted a cattle smuggling attempt, apprehending six Indian nationals and rescuing 69 cattle at the international border in Meghalaya. The operation took place near the Dalu village in collaboration with Meghalaya police. The seized cattle and apprehended persons were handed over to authorities.

Border Security Forces (BSF) successfully thwarted a significant cattle smuggling attempt at the international border in Meghalaya, apprehending six Indian nationals in the process.

The PRO of BSF Meghalaya reported that troops rescued 69 cattle loaded in four pickup vehicles in West Garo Hills during a joint operation with Meghalaya police. The cattle, found near the Dalu village bordering area, were intended to be smuggled into Bangladesh, according to officials.

The apprehended individuals and the seized cattle have been handed over to the Dalu police station for further legal procedures. Earlier this month, BSF also intercepted a major smuggling operation in North Tripura's Dharmanagar subdivision, seizing 10 cattle heads and a vehicle while apprehending two individuals.
