Cloudburst Tragedy in Tehri: Heavy Rain Causes Multiple Fatalities and Injuries in Uttarakhand

Two individuals have died, and another sustained injuries following a cloudburst in Jakhanyali, Ghansali area, Tehri Garhwal district. The victims were identified as Bhanu Prasad, 50, and Anita Devi, 45.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) confirmed that after being informed of three missing persons, they conducted a search, recovering two bodies and rescuing an injured individual who was taken to the hospital from a 200-metre-deep ditch. The deceased bodies were handed over to district police.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall in Haridwar led to the collapse of a dilapidated house in Bhori Dera, resulting in the deaths of two children, Aas Mohammed, 10, and Nagma, 8, and injuring nine others. Haridwar District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal stated that 11 people were trapped in the debris, with three critically injured and others hospitalized but stable.
Following these incidents, district officials and police prioritized the rescue of buried victims and announced compensation for affected families as per government orders. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey inspected disaster relief operations and assured effective measures and no shortage of funds for relief work.
