IGP V.K. Birdi Reviews Kashmir Security Amid Rising Challenges

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, led a security review meeting with top officials in Srinagar. Inspector General of Police for Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, chaired a crucial security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir on Friday.

The meeting included discussions with high-level officers on recent security developments, current challenges, and strategies to counteract these threats. Birdi stressed the importance of reviewing and enhancing security plans and designing effective counterinsurgency strategies to ensure peaceful conduct of forthcoming events.

Birdi directed officers to increase surveillance on anti-national elements and enhance security for vulnerable targets. He also emphasized the critical need for thorough monitoring of social media to prevent misinformation. To maintain peace and safety, Birdi called for increased cordon and search operations, particularly in sensitive areas of the valley and along national highways. The meeting concluded with a commitment to heightened vigilance, improved coordination, and effective implementation of security measures across the valley.
