Forest Officials Successfully Rescue Elephant from Ditch

Forest officials rescued a female elephant trapped in a ditch near Gossaigaon. The elephant had wandered from Raimona National Park to a nearby village. Using a JCB, officials safely pulled her out and transported her back to the park. Authorities thanked the rescue team for their efforts.

Forest officials from Safnan range successfully rescued a female elephant that had fallen into a ditch in Mainaopur near Gossaigaon on Saturday. The pachyderm had wandered outside Raimona National Park's boundaries to the nearby village and then became trapped, officials reported.

The rescue operation commenced after local villagers alerted authorities about the elephant's plight. Forest officials employed a JCB machine to excavate the earth around the ditch, enabling a safe extraction of the elephant.

After her rescue, the elephant was transported back to Raimona National Park unharmed. The Divisional Forest Officer, Kachugaon Division, Gossaigaon, and the in-charge of Sanfan Range, Kachugaon, expressed their gratitude to the rescue team for their dedicated efforts.
