More than 300,000 candidates have registered for the 71,000 undergraduate seats available at Delhi University (DU) for the 2024-25 academic session, a senior university official announced on Monday. As the registration process remains open until August 7, the numbers are expected to rise.
Currently, over 93,500 candidates have completed Phase II of the admissions process by filling out their college and course preferences. According to the official, "Out of 300,090 registrants, 236,717 have completed their profiles, and 93,532 have selected their course and college preferences." Phase II of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) was initiated after the release of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG results by the National Testing Agency.
DU offers 71,000 seats across more than 65 colleges via the CUET UG. Despite the start of Phase II, Phase I registration is still open. Applicants can register until August 7, 4.59 pm. Candidates must align their Class 12 subjects with the CUET UG 2024 subjects. A simulated rank list will be published on August 11, and preferences can be revised until August 12, 11.59 pm. The first merit list will be released on August 16, allowing candidates to accept their seats until August 18, after which colleges will verify and approve applications. The academic session, initially scheduled for August 1, was delayed due to the late announcement of CUET results. This year, DU also introduced a special quota for single girl children under its supernumerary category.
