Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with World Bank representatives to discuss the launch of UP-AGREES, a new agriculture development project aimed at increasing crop productivity, developing clusters for various crops, and boosting exports. The project will provide financial and technical assistance to farmers and related industries in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met World Bank representatives on Monday as the Uttar Pradesh government prepares to launch a groundbreaking programme to enhance crop productivity and develop clusters for key crops like groundnut and chilli.
The initiative, titled 'Agriculture Development and Rural Entrepreneurship Strengthening (UP-AGREES)', aims to rejuvenate the state's agriculture sector by offering technical assistance and infrastructure support. Aimed at boosting exports, the project will also facilitate training abroad for farmers.
This significant six-year initiative will directly benefit farmers, farmer-producer organizations, and related MSMEs across 21 districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh and 7 districts of Bundelkhand, with special emphasis on involving women farmers and fishermen families.
