Tragic Suicides in Thane: A Tale of Despair

A 43-year-old paralyzed woman and a 16-year-old girl from Thane, struggling with life challenges, ended their lives in separate incidents within 24 hours. The woman, Kavita Fule, set herself on fire, while the girl hanged herself due to academic failures. Police have registered these as accidental deaths.

A 43-year-old woman suffering from paralysis below the waist and a 16-year-old girl from Thane district tragically committed suicide in separate incidents over the last 24 hours, police revealed on Tuesday.

The deceased woman was identified as Kavita Fule, a resident of Laxminagar slum colony in Dombivli. Officials stated that the teenage girl was a resident of Badlapur.

According to a police official, Fule, who had been paralyzed below her waist since birth, took the extreme step as she grew weary of her physical condition. On Monday afternoon, she allegedly doused herself with inflammable liquid while alone in her hutment and set herself on fire, resulting in her death due to severe burn injuries.

In a separate incident, a 16-year-old girl from Badlapur allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling of her home on Monday. She was reportedly depressed over her failure to pass the class 10 board examinations, despite multiple attempts, police said, citing her father.

Police have registered cases of accidental death in both incidents.
