Rajasthan Kicks Off 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Tree Plantation Drive

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar launched the Chief Minister's Tree Plantation Mega Campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' at the Women's Polytechnic College in Jodhpur. The initiative, part of the 'Harialo Rajasthan' program, aims at increasing greenery to combat rising temperatures and environmental crises.

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar inaugurated the Chief Minister's Tree Plantation Mega Campaign, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,' organized by the district administration at the Women's Polytechnic College in Jodhpur. The campaign, which began statewide on Wednesday, aligns with the 'Harialo Rajasthan' initiative aimed at bolstering greenery.

Speaking to the media, Dilawar urged all citizens to participate in dense tree plantations in their areas. He highlighted calls made to various segments of society, from saints and schools to panchayats, to join the campaign. Dilawar stressed the importance of tree plantations in mitigating rising temperatures and preserving Mother Earth, and called on journalists to support the initiative by planting trees themselves.

Despite being questioned about heavy rainfall in Western Rajasthan, Dilawar avoided the topic. The inaugural event saw participation from prominent city figures, district administration officials, and Bharatiya Janata Party members. Dilawar kicked off the initiative by planting trees on the Women's Polytechnic College premises, advocating for annual tree plantations as a tradition to ensure the health of society.

"I request everyone to plant more trees every year to increase our numbers," Dilawar said. "We will send a message to the world that when our country and world face danger, the people of Rajasthan will lead the initiative."
