CAG Lauds Pramod Sawant's Fiscal Management Achievements

The Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) praised the Pramod Sawant government's efforts in improving Goa's fiscal health post-COVID. The report highlighted enhanced revenue surplus, reduced fiscal deficit to GSDP ratio, and effective debt management. Three out of four targets under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act have been achieved.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has commended the Pramod Sawant administration for its strides in improving fiscal parameters, including raising revenue surplus and reducing the fiscal deficit to GSDP ratio in the post-COVID era.

The CAG report, tabled during the recently concluded session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, emphasized Chief Minister Sawant’s effective fiscal management.

It highlighted notable achievements in revenue, fiscal, and primary deficits compared to the previous four years and praised the state’s fiscal health improvements under the Finance Department's leadership.
