Central Railway's Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully apprehended two individuals who trespassed into the Motorman's cabin of a stationary local train at Kasara station, located in the Thane district of Maharashtra.
According to an official statement released by Central Railway on Sunday, the accused were identified as Raja Himmat Yerwal (20) and Ritesh Hiralal Jadhav (18), both residents of Nashik. One of them entered the Motorman's cabin of suburban train number 95410 at Platform 4, Kasara station on July 25, while the other recorded a video which was later uploaded on social media. Central Railway’s RPF team collaborated with the Cyber Cell, leading to the duo's capture in Nashik on August 8.
During questioning, the accused confessed to their actions, stating they intended to create a video for social media. They were subsequently arrested and charged under CR NO.1200/24, sections 145(b) and 147.
The swift action underscores Central Railway's zero-tolerance policy towards trespassing and unauthorized access, according to the statement. This incident is part of a broader trend, with similar events recently reported, such as the Northern Railway's case where Gulzar Sheikh was arrested by the RPF for tampering with railway tracks for making videos.
Central Railway reiterates its commitment to passenger safety and urges the public to avoid actions that compromise safety and disrupt railway operations. Offenders will face strict legal consequences. The statement emphasized that passenger safety remains Indian Railways’ top priority, and authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure a secure travel environment.
