In a reinforcing call to action, Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi has urged states and Union Territories to actively take advantage of ministry schemes designed to bolster the nutrition and safety of women and children.
The appeal was made during a meeting on Saturday with state ministers of women and child development, social welfare departments, and administrators and lieutenant governors of Union Territories.
During the session, Devi stressed the need for collective efforts and strategic planning for the successful implementation of the ministry's flagship programs—Mission Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti. 'Our objective is to ensure that the benefits of our efforts reach the grassroots level,' she stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration with states for national progress.
Additionally, Devi called for the upgrade of 'anganwadis' to 'Saksham Anganwadis,' establishment of anganwadi-cum-creches, and the construction of working women's hostels dubbed 'Sakhi Niwas.' She also encouraged participation in 'Poshan Maah' in September to raise awareness about nutritional practices.
