On Monday, top political figures, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, gathered at the Lodhi Cremation Centre in New Delhi for the last rites of the former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh. Singh passed away at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram following a prolonged illness, aged 93.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who attended the funeral, praised Natwar Singh for his bold and courageous nature. Shekhawat said, "Natwar Singh was a bold and courageous person. He always expressed his views fearlessly, which were in the best interests of the country and society. I pay tribute to Natwar Singh. May God give strength to his family to bear this loss."

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda echoed similar sentiments, highlighting Singh's lifelong dedication to public service. "He made a place for himself in administrative services and politics. Everyone trusted him. Throughout his life, he served the country," Hooda said.

Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar also paid his respects at the Lodhi Cremation Centre. Natwar Singh, who served as the External Affairs Minister from 2004 to 2005 under former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, had a distinguished career, including being awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1984.

The nation mourns the loss of a dedicated leader whose contributions to both diplomacy and politics have left an indelible mark.
