In a swift operation on Monday, officials from the Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) unit in Nalgonda seized 5.5 tonnes of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice at Chittapuram village, located on the outskirts of Valigonda Mandal in Yadadri Bhongir District. Acting on credible intelligence, V&E personnel conducted the raid in the early hours and recovered 92 illegal bags of rice.

Upon investigation, it was disclosed that the PDS rice was unlawfully stored by D. Mahendar, a resident of Pacharlabodu Thanda in Bhongir Mandal. The confiscated rice, estimated to be worth around Rs 1,10,000, has been handed over to the relevant authorities to register a case under Section 6A and begin criminal proceedings against the accused.

Further investigations into the matter are currently underway, according to an ANI report.
