Fairexpay, a fintech startup, has launched the nation's first fully digital solution for cross-border remittances under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), following approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) through the Cohort Sandbox in July 2022.

According to a company statement on Tuesday, Fairexpay's platform is poised to be a game-changer for students and their families, enabling them to save between 3-5 percent on foreign exchange costs compared to traditional banks, all from the comfort of their homes.

Traditional banks typically take T+2 days and require several document exchanges to process remittances. In contrast, Fairexpay simplifies the process, offering a flat 1 percent margin on most currencies, thus significantly reducing costs and improving efficiency.

The platform, known for its lowest forex rates across more than 18 currencies and serving 130 countries, positions itself as the most affordable option without sacrificing convenience or security.

Fairexpay, with RBI approval under the Cohort Sandbox, employs advanced encryption and adheres to all regulatory standards to ensure the safety and security of transactions.

While the platform benefits Indian students, it also aids travelers and others by reducing fees typically charged by traditional banks and service providers for transferring funds abroad, covering expenses such as family maintenance, accommodation, travel, and medical bills.
