Grassroots Heroines Honored: Women Transforming India

The Ministry of Women and Child Development welcomed 161 field functionaries and their companions from across the nation to Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi for an interactive session with Minister of State Savitri Thakur. These field functionaries are vital to implementing key schemes like 'Anganwadis', 'Sakhi One-Stop Centres', and 'Child Welfare Committees'.
Starting the event, Savitri Thakur stressed the indispensable role of grassroots efforts in empowering women and child welfare. These representatives from various States and Union Territories were commended for their unyielding commitment. They were specially invited, along with their companions, to attend the 78th Independence Day Ceremony at the Red Fort on August 15.
Thakur highlighted the critical role these women play in advancing 'Viksit Bharat' as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She stated, 'Empowered women are the foundation of a strong nation. Through initiatives like Mission Shakti and Mission Poshan 2.0, we strengthen this foundation. Your dedication is leading India towards a brighter future.'
The event ended with the field workers sharing their experiences and showing enthusiasm for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. Monika Sharma, an invitee from Jammu and Kashmir, expressed her pride and excitement to be part of this historic event, supporting 'Women-Led Development'. Savitri Devi, an Anganwadi worker from Jharkhand, was ecstatic about the recognition and the invitation to the Independence Day celebration.
The Ministry also recognized 10 'Nari Shakti Puruskar' awardees, who shared their work and interacted with Thakur. They were felicitated for their continuous hard work and dedication.
