Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday extended his heartfelt greetings to all the people of the state on the occasion of the folk festival of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Ghee Sankranti (Gheu Tyaar). Through social media, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of folk festivals in preserving the state's rich heritage and tradition. He expressed hopes that the festival would bring happiness, prosperity, and health to all.

In an earlier message, Chief Minister Dhami also greeted the state on the eve of India's 78th Independence Day, paying tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. He reaffirmed his commitment to making Uttarakhand a leading state in every field, attributing the state’s development to favorable industrial policies, a calm industrial environment, skilled human resources, liberal tax benefits, and increased capital investment.

Additionally, on Thursday, August 15, the Chief Minister paid floral tribute to Captain Deepak Singh, who was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Governor Lt General Gurmeet Singh also honored the martyr at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. CM Dhami stated that Captain Singh's sacrifice would not be in vain and promised a strong response to enemies, asserting that the entire nation stands with the captain's bereaved family.
