Haryana Set for Single-Phase Elections on October 1, Result on October 4

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that Haryana will hold Assembly elections on October 1, with vote counting on October 4. The state has 2.01 crore voters. BJP leader Anil Vij and former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda stated their parties are ready. Elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be multi-phase.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced on Friday that the 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana will go to polls in a single phase on October 1, with vote counting scheduled for October 4. Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Kumar detailed the election schedule and voter demographics.

Haryana has a total of 2.01 crore voters, including 1.06 crore males, 0.95 crore females, 4.52 lakh first-time voters, and 40.95 lakh young voters. The electoral roll is set to be published on August 27, 2024. Key dates include September 12 for filing nominations, September 13 for scrutiny, and September 16 for withdrawal of candidatures.

BJP leader Anil Vij and former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced their readiness for the polls. Congress chief Udai Bhan welcomed the announcement, expressing confidence in winning a 2/3rd majority. The Election Commission recently reviewed poll preparations in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, which will hold its assembly elections in three phases starting September 18.
