CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Inspects Development Projects in Dehra Assembly Constituency

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited Dehra Assembly on Friday to assess land for new offices and development projects. He reviewed ongoing constructions, interacted with students, and emphasized improved education. New initiatives include a college building, tourism promotion, better road connectivity, water supply, and sports facilities.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited Dehra Assembly constituency on Friday to inspect land sites for several offices and development projects. He instructed the district administration to expedite the identification of suitable land for the newly planned Superintendent of Police office and other offices in Dehra.

During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction of the fire station, SDM office, hospital, sericulture office, and Government Senior Secondary Schools for boys and girls at Dehra. He interacted with students, urging teachers to update them on current events regularly, and raised concerns over the general knowledge level among students.

Sukhu emphasized improving the quality of education in the state, announcing several initiatives, including a new building for Dehra College with an allocation of Rs. 7 crores. He also highlighted opportunities to boost local tourism, announcing the 'Dehra Utsav' to promote local culture by year-end. Additionally, he directed the laying of underground electricity cables in Dehra and Jawalamukhi, assuring sufficient funds for the project.

Later, in a meeting with district officials, he reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects and instructed the HPSEBL to survey electricity issues in Dehra, considering future infrastructure needs. The Chief Minister promised timely project completions without financial impediments and directed improvements in road connectivity and water supply in the region.

He asked officers to prepare Detailed Project Reports for drinking water schemes in various areas and announced the installation of UV filter systems in these schemes. Furthermore, new bus stands at Khundiyan and Dadasiba, an integrated sports stadium in Dehra, and road improvements were outlined to enhance commuter facilities and encourage sports among youth.

Sukhu also explored the potential for new Public Works Department divisions and sub-divisions, as well as new police offices. MLAs Kamlesh Thakur and Sanjay Rattan, Congress leader Surender Mankotia, and other senior officials attended the events and meetings.
