BJP Mahila Morcha Protests Rape and Murder of Junior Doctor in Kolkata

BJP Mahila Morcha, led by Vanathi Srinivasan, organized a silent candle march in Kolkata to protest the rape and murder of a junior doctor. The protest highlighted concerns over women's safety in West Bengal, demanding justice and government accountability.

In a powerful demonstration against the rape and murder of a junior doctor, BJP Mahila Morcha, under the leadership of its national president Vanathi Srinivasan, staged a silent candle march outside the Medical College in Kolkata. Among those present were national office bearers of Mahila Morcha and Rajya Sabha MP Darshan Singh, Sangeeta Yadav, Geeta Shakya, Indu Bala Coswami, and West Bengal in-charge Pooja Kapil Mishra.

Speaking to the media, Vanathi Srinivasan expressed her dismay, stating, 'It is the misfortune of West Bengal that despite having a woman Chief Minister, the sisters and daughters of the state are not safe. It is with profound sadness and outrage that I am here to bring the attention of a female Chief Minister to address the recent horrific incident involving the brutal rape and murder of a women doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital here in Kolkata.' She further criticized the state administration for allegedly trying to deny and erase evidence of the incident.

'The TMC government has become an anti-women government for whom power is paramount. We are all speechless. And we demand that the family of the female doctor should get justice and that the sisters and daughters of West Bengal should be safe,' added Srinivasan. State President of Bengal Mahila Morcha Falguni Patra and the entire team were also present during the protest. (ANI)
