A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred in South Delhi where a 34-year-old cyclist lost his life after being struck by a speeding Mercedes. Police have identified the driver as Pradeep Gautam, who has now been arrested. The vehicle has been seized.

According to official statements, the victim, Rajesh, was fatally hit from behind by the speeding Mercedes on Saturday morning, resulting in his instant death. The driver later surrendered to local authorities, and investigations revealed that the car was given to Pradeep a month ago for sale.

The body of Rajesh was discovered on the roadside with his cycle found approximately 150 meters ahead. Habi Prasad, Rajesh's uncle, informed ANI that Rajesh was on his way to work when the tragedy struck. 'The Mercedes driver dragged Rajesh for 7-8 meters, leading to his immediate death. The cycle was dragged for at least 100-150 meters,' Prasad stated. The postmortem is scheduled for Sunday.
