In a heart-wrenching incident in the Nirmal district of Telangana, a 12-year-old girl was compelled to perform her mother’s funeral using community donations after the mother allegedly committed suicide. The girl’s father had passed away previously, leaving her mother, a daily wage earner with drinking habits, to fend for the family.

On Thursday night, the girl's mother took her own life by hanging herself. The girl, who had spent the night at her aunt's nearby home, found herself helpless the next morning without the financial means to conduct the funeral. Local residents came to her aid, placing money beside her house as donations.

The local police also contributed funds to assist with the funeral arrangements. Later in the day, with the help of the community, the young girl conducted her mother’s last rites. Media coverage of the incident drew more support from people outside the village. BRS Working President K T Rama Rao took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce Rs 10,000 in immediate assistance for the girl and expressed plans to personally help her secure a safe future.
