The Election Commission of India (ECI) has suspended the announcement of recruitment results in Haryana amid ongoing assembly elections. The ECI's move comes after a complaint from Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, concerning potential violations of the Model Code of Conduct in the recruitment process for various state posts.
The ECI sought a detailed report from the Haryana State Government and found no violations in the recruitment processes by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). However, the ECI instructed that the results should not be announced until the completion of the assembly elections to maintain a level playing field.
Haryana's assembly elections will take place in a single phase on October 1, with the vote count set for October 4. The state has a total of 2.01 crore voters, including first-time and young voters. The ECI's decision aims to ensure no undue advantage is given during this critical electoral period.
