Industrial Incidents in Andhra Pradesh: Chemical Exposure, Road Accidents, and Reactor Explosion

In Vishakhapatnam, five workers, including three women, were hospitalized on Saturday following exposure to a chemical powder spillage at Sravan Shipping Services Pvt Ltd. According to Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi, four workers are now stable, while one remains in the ICU at Simhagiri Hospital, Gajuwaka.
On the same week, a fatal road accident occurred on the Kadapa-Rayachoti National Highway, claiming five lives. The accident involved a container truck colliding with a car traveling from Kadapa to Guvvalacheruvu. Investigations are underway to determine the cause, confirmed CI Venkata Konda Reddy.
Additionally, an explosion at a reactor in Atchutapuram SEZ in Anakapalli district resulted in three deaths and seventeen injuries. Andhra Pradesh Labour and Medical Services Minister Vasamsetti Subhash reported that rescue operations are ongoing, hindered by dense smoke, with efforts focused on locating and assisting additional trapped individuals.
