Air India has taken a significant step in its transformation program by introducing the Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the Delhi-London Heathrow route, starting Monday. This twice-daily service is the first showcase of the 'new Air India' experience on long-haul flights.

The Airbus A350 offers a new three-class configuration featuring full-flat beds in Business, an upgraded Premium Economy, and the latest seats in Economy. Passengers can enjoy over 3000 hours of entertainment, soon to be complemented by onboard Wi-Fi. Business and Premium Economy guests will receive exclusive amenity kits designed by Ferragamo and TUMI, as well as Air India's new Vista Verve soft product, including new chinaware, tableware, glassware, and bedding. The flight and cabin crew will don new uniforms designed by Manish Malhotra.

"Deploying the flagship A350s on the Delhi-London Heathrow route marks a pivotal moment for Air India. It underscores our commitment to offering a world-class travel experience and surpassing customer expectations as we expand our fleet," said Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director of Air India. The A350 features 28 private suites in Business, 24 seats in Premium Economy, and 264 seats in Economy, all equipped with the latest Panasonic eX3 inflight entertainment system and HD screens.

Alongside a diverse menu catering to Indian and International tastes, passengers will be treated to luxurious dining with India-inspired chinaware. Air India started receiving the A350s earlier this year, initially deploying them on domestic and short-haul international routes. The A350-900 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on most weekly flights, adding 336 more seats to the Delhi-London Heathrow route each week.
