Historic Peace Pact Signed in Tripura
Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha hailed the signing of a historic Memorandum of Settlement between the Centre, state government, and insurgent groups NLFT and ATTF, marking a new era of peace. The signing, witnessed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, aims to integrate former militants into society.

In a significant step towards lasting peace, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha described the signing of a Memorandum of Settlement with insurgent groups NLFT and ATTF as a 'historic moment.' The agreement was formalized on Wednesday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other key officials.
'A historic moment for Tripura! Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the benevolent guidance of Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the entire North East has been witnessing a new era of peace, prosperity, and goodwill,' Saha remarked. He noted that the settlement signals a commitment by various factions of NLFT and ATTF to participate in the state's development journey.
Shah highlighted that over 300 armed cadres are slated to join the mainstream as a result of the peace pact. 'Ever since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, through peace and dialogue, he developed the Northeast,' Shah said. The Centre has earmarked Rs. 250 crore for the welfare of the returnees, marking a new chapter in Tripura's path towards peace and development.
