In a significant operation against liquor smuggling, Telangana's prohibition and excise department seized 415 bottles of non-duty paid liquor at Shamshabad airport. Officials confirmed the seizure on Thursday, revealing that the contraband was worth an estimated Rs 12 lakh and was being transported from Goa to Hyderabad via air cargo.
An excise department official detailed that the confiscated bottles amounted to 352.68 litres of liquor. The operation was executed by a joint team of excise enforcement officials, including director VB Kamalasan Reddy, DC Rangareddy Dasarath, AC R Kishan, AE S Jeevan Kiran, two enforcement teams, and the Shamshabad DTF excise police team.
Authorities have booked 12 individuals involved in the transportation of the illicit liquor. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues. (ANI)
