Gujarat Achieves Major Milestones in Water Conservation: PM Modi and CM Patel Laud Efforts

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday underscored Gujarat's enhanced water conservation efforts during the virtual launch of 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Yojana' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Surat. CM Patel announced that water conservation in the state has surged by 11 lakh cubic metres.
Lauding the Prime Minister's initiatives, CM Patel noted that Gujarat has greatly benefited from PM Modi's schemes, including the 'Jal Sanchay Yojana' and 'Sujalam Sufalam Yojana'. He highlighted the success of the 'Catch the Rain' campaign, which has shown positive results both in Gujarat and nationwide, further emphasizing Gujarat's achievements in rainwater harvesting.
CM Patel proudly stated that Vadodara is the first district in India where rainwater harvesting has been implemented in every village, attributing this accomplishment to the state's water conservation success. He also praised PM Modi's visionary approach, asserting that India is on track to become the world's third-largest economic power.
The 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Initiative', launched by PM Modi and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Gujarat government, aims to construct around 24,800 rainwater harvesting structures to ensure long-term water sustainability statewide.
Emphasizing the importance of water conservation, PM Modi stated that water is the essence of all life and highlighted the country's responsibility to lead in finding global solutions to the water crisis. He urged a visionary and comprehensive approach to address this critical issue.
