Intensive Search for 'Man-Eater' Wolves in Bahraich

Authorities are conducting an intensive search operation in Bahraich to locate two remaining 'killer' wolves, with four already captured. Drone footage from Saturday morning shows significant agricultural land under scrutiny at Harbaksh Purwa village.

The effort intensified after Friday night, when thermal drones located a wolf 2-3 kilometers from Harbaksh Purwa. The search area, spanning 30-35 kilometers, is divided into four sectors, employing 165 forest personnel, including senior officers.

Coordination among the Forest Department, Police Department, and District Administration ensures night patrols in the affected zones. Sanjay Pathak, a senior forest official, emphasized continuous vigilance and use of drones to capture the wolves. Despite challenges posed by false public reports, efforts remain steadfast.

Renu Singh, Chief Conservator Forest Central Zone, highlighted the deployment of all available resources and issued directives to minimize response times for wolf sightings, leveraging thermal drones for precise tracking.

The search follows a tragic incident where a three-year-old girl was killed and two women were injured by wolf attacks, sparking local outrage over administrative negligence.
