Mamata Banerjee Alleges Central Conspiracy; Urges Return to Work Amid Protests

She urges doctors to resume work and calls for calm as Durga Puja approaches, denying accusations of bribery and highlighting issues of violence against Bengalis.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted on Monday that the state government is fully compliant with the requirements set by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). She accused the central government and certain leftist parties of orchestrating a conspiracy against her administration. 'This is all a conspiracy hatched by the central government and some leftist parties. They are involved in this conspiracy,' Banerjee stated.

The Supreme Court on Monday instructed the West Bengal government to ensure accommodation for CISF personnel deployed at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Addressing an administrative review meeting at Nabanna Sabhaghar, CM Banerjee urged protesting doctors to return to work, highlighting that ongoing disruptions are causing problems for the public, particularly the elderly. She reiterated that Pollution Control Board regulations must be followed regarding noise levels.

Banerjee also denied allegations of offering money to the family of a doctor who was raped and murdered in Kolkata. 'The Supreme Court has requested doctors to resume work immediately, and I echo that call,' she said. 'If they want to meet me, they are always welcome.' Banerjee also reassured that the government is ready to assist the family in remembering their daughter.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for order ahead of Durga Puja and requested junior doctors to resume their duties. She dismissed bribery accusations as 'slander' and part of a broader conspiracy against her government. 'I have never offered money to the deceased doctor's family. This is nothing but slander,' Banerjee clarified.

Banerjee criticized increased violence against migrant workers and ethnic targeting in BJP-ruled states, vowing that such incidents would not be tolerated in West Bengal. She also accused outsiders of contributing to rising crime rates in the state.
