Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reviewed the free bus facility for women and the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) activities during a high-level meeting. Reddy made multiple suggestions for improvement and ordered the procurement of new RTC buses to meet the public's needs.
Reddy urged officials to innovate new methods to address the escalating demands. He also examined the occupancy rates in buses operating under the Maha Lakshmi scheme.
Last December, the Congress government launched the Maha Lakshmi scheme, providing free travel for women, girls, and transgender persons in state-run Palle Velugu and express buses. The scheme primarily benefits those domiciled in Telangana and has been effectively implemented since its inception.
