Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan met the woman allegedly assaulted at Bharatpur police station along with her fiancé, an Army officer, on Monday. The meeting, held at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, aimed to address her complaints and ensure justice.
According to the woman, Majhi assured her of a judicial inquiry and emphasized zero tolerance towards any wrongdoings against women. She expressed concerns over possible threats and the impact on her business, to which the CM promised necessary protection and a fair judicial process.
The woman's father also thanked the Odisha government for the swift initiation of a judicial inquiry, which he noted would conclude in a time-bound manner within 60 days. The incident, occurring on September 15, led to the suspension of five police officials and a Crime Branch probe.
