Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Three Young Lives

Three boys, aged 13-14, drowned in a canal while playing cricket in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district. The incident occurred as they attempted to retrieve a ball. Despite efforts to save one another, strong currents swept them away. They were pronounced dead at a local hospital.

In a heart-wrenching incident, three adolescent boys aged between 13 and 14 years drowned in a canal connected to the Subarnareka river in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.

The tragedy unfolded in the Saraskana area as the group enjoyed a game of cricket near the water channel. A ball that fell into the canal led to the ensuing misfortune.

As one boy sought to retrieve the ball, he lost his footing and slipped into the canal's deep waters. Two of his friends made valiant attempts to save him, but all three were overcome by strong currents. Their lifeless bodies were later recovered by fire service personnel and declared dead on arrival at Saskana hospital, according to a police report.
