According to police reports, the fire began on Monday afternoon following an explosion in a benzene storage tank. The blaze subsequently spread to nearby tanks, necessitating an extensive firefighting operation that persisted into the early hours of Tuesday. Despite the chaos, firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control.
Tragically, two victims, identified as Dhimant Makwana and Shailesh Makwana, lost their lives to the incident. One IOCL official remains hospitalized. However, their condition is reported as stable. The aftermath has prompted a thorough investigation, with authorities working hard to determine the cause of the explosion.
