As the state of Assam accelerates preparations for the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025, Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu announced key insights about the forthcoming event, heralding it as a potential economic milestone. Dr. Pegu, in conversation with ANI, confirmed that preparations are progressing efficiently. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Assam on February 24 to attend the Mega Jhumur demonstration, followed by his participation in the event's plenary session on February 25.
The summit has drawn unprecedented interest from investors, with over 1 lakh investment proposals already submitted, significantly exceeding the organizers' initial expectations. Dr. Pegu remarked, "We initially targeted 1 lakh investment proposals, but we have surpassed this with over 1 lakh intent letters already received," underscoring the summit's successful outreach. Dr. Pegu believes the summit will diversify employment opportunities for Assam's youth, reducing dependency on government jobs due to limited industrial presence in the region.
