Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya's Ram Temple, has been bid farewell by thousands in Uttar Pradesh. His final rites are scheduled to be performed at Saryu Ghat, following Ramanandi sect rituals.
A massive turnout of saints and residents took to the streets in homage as his remains journeyed from Satya Dham Gopal Mandir to Hanumangarhi temple.
The spiritual leader succumbed to a stroke on Wednesday at SGPGI Lucknow's Neurology ward. Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak have expressed their condolences, marking an irreparable void in the spiritual fraternity.
