The Vietnamese government is keen to strengthen agricultural trade ties with the United States amidst rising global trade tensions. Trade Minister Nguyen Hong Dien stated that Vietnam is prepared to import more agricultural products from the U.S., which remains the country's largest export market.

During a meeting with U.S. ambassador to Hanoi, Marc Knapper, Dien highlighted the potential benefits of enhanced cooperation between the two nations. He stressed the importance of diversifying products and supply chains to navigate the challenging global trade landscape effectively.

Vietnam also hopes for expanded access to the U.S. market for its agricultural produce, seeking to build on the existing trade surplus, which surpassed $123 billion last year, according to U.S. data.
