Kremlin Rejects Drone Attack Claims as Provocation

The Kremlin has labeled Ukraine's allegations about a Russian drone damaging the Chornobyl containment as a provocation. The incident, disputed by Moscow, did not affect radiation levels. The Kremlin on Friday brushed off claims by Ukraine that a Russian drone had compromised the containment shelter at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant as a 'provocation.'

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted a lack of detailed information on the occurrence but insisted that Russia refrains from targeting nuclear infrastructure.

Despite the allegations, both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and the U.N.'s nuclear energy watchdog have confirmed that radiation levels stayed within normal limits. The incident coincided with the Munich Security Conference, where global leaders convened to deliberate the war in Ukraine.
