Rajasthan Governor Advocates for Clean Energy Shift

Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde stressed the priority of clean energy production to cut crude oil import costs. Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, during a Friday event, emphasized the urgent need for India to prioritize alternative clean energy production to mitigate the steep financial burden of crude oil imports.

At the inaugural ceremony of a conservation-themed event organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Bagde highlighted that India ranks as the third-largest consumer of petroleum products globally, trailing only the United States and China.

Bagde articulated concerns about the domestic production shortfall in crude oil and natural gas, leading to over 80% reliance on imports. The governor advocated for energy conservation, reduced emissions, and increased use of ethanol in fuels, urging collaborative efforts to achieve energy self-sufficiency by expanding solar and wind energy production.
