Kashmir's Crackdown: Properties Seized Under Anti-Terror Legislation

Authorities in Kashmir are intensifying efforts to combat terrorism by seizing properties linked to unlawful activities. The Sopore and Kulgam police have attached multiple properties under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, aimed at curtailing terrorist support networks and ensuring legal compliance in ongoing investigations.

Kashmir authorities are ramping up their anti-terrorism measures by seizing properties allegedly linked to unlawful activities. Recently, the Sopore Police attached a single-storied house, a poultry farm, and land in Rakhi Sultanpora Sumbal under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This operation was meticulously executed with the presence of a police team and an Executive Magistrate, adhering strictly to legal procedures.

In a parallel move to quell terrorism, the Kulgam Police on February 13 seized a fully damaged, double-storied residential house. This property was purportedly used by terrorists and was registered in the name of Safdar Ali Dar from Kulgam, South Kashmir. The attachment proceeds from case FIR No. 100/2024 of the Kulgam Police Station, ensuring due process and legal compliance.

Such operations signify a pivotal stride in dismantling terrorist operations and support networks. Previously, Sopore Police had on December 5 announced the attachment of another residential property under the UAPA. These actions collectively highlight a staunch commitment to eradicating subversive activities in the region.
