The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private investment arm of the World Bank, is ramping up its equity investments in Pakistan, according to a media report. IFC Chief Makhtar Diop, currently visiting Pakistan, revealed the organization's plan to invest up to USD 2 billion annually over the next decade, as reported by The Express Tribune.
This investment strategy aims to unlock substantial financing for infrastructure projects in Pakistan's energy, water, and transport sectors. Diop underscored the significance of these investments, which align with the World Bank's USD 20 billion Country Partnership Framework, potentially mobilizing further investment.
